Serbian grandmaster Aleksandar Matanović turns 90 today, May 23! ????
Awarded the GM title in 1955, Matanović was one of the strongest Yugoslavian players in the 1950s and 1960s, a three-time Yugoslavian champion and a multiple-time medalist.
In 1966, Matanović co-founded "Chess Informant", a leading source of games and analyses for chess players in the pre-computer era. He served as its editor-in-chief for more than 20 years. Later he became the head of the Management Board and holds this position to the present day.
